The 1785-O5G is a powerful Allen-Bradley’s PLC-5 Coprocessor that is commonly used as a backup module. With an RS-232 port as well as a backplane current of 2.7 Amps at 5 Volts DC, this module has all it takes to meet all of the users’ application needs. Its maximum analog input/output (I/O) is 3072. In addition, the module’s input/output scan times per rack are 10 milliseconds at 57.6 kilobits per second (kbits/s), 7 milliseconds at 115.2 kilobits per second, and 3 milliseconds at 230.4 megabits per second (Mbits/s). This module is suitable for use in Pollution Level 2 Industry Environments and in Excessive Category 2 applications. Note that this power supply module can be operated at an altitude as high as 6562 feet without suffering any derating. Do not install or remove this module while the power is on as this may lead to an electric arc or electric shock.
Also, before connecting or disconnecting the 1785-O5G’s cable or terminal, make sure to switch off all the power connections going into the module. Failure to do this can result in severe injury, damage, and even explosions in risky locations. Before proceeding to install the module, ensure that the area is not hazardous and that all power is removed. The 1785-O5G’s operating temperature usually varies from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius ( 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) while its storage temperature ranges from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). Without condensation, this PLC-5 Coprocessor’s ambient relative humidity level is between 5 and 95%. The 1785-O5G also comes with a 30 g (3 pulses, 11 milliseconds) operating shock as well as a 50 g (3 pulses, 11 milliseconds) non-operating shock. Users can effectively install this module in a standard enclosure featuring an IP54 protection level for use in Zone II environments. The Allen-Bradley 1785-O5G is an ideal industrial coprocessor.
