The 1785-L30B is a programmable controller from the PLC-5 systems which are manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The 1785-L30B has various ports which includes two ports which function as remote I/O scanners, remote I/O adapters, and DH+ communication interfaces. These ports are marked as channel 1A and channel 1B. The DH+ communication port works for remote programming and monitoring. The other port includes a 25-pin communication port which is used for communication. It is marked as channel 0 and the status of the communication process is displayed through the COMM LED on the front panel of the controller. The port is an optically-isolated EIA RS232C port which supports the ASCII and DF1 protocols.
The 1785-L30B has other indicators which include the BATT indicator that is used to indicate a low battery in the module. The PROC indicator indicates the current status of the processor, in the RUN mode, the indicator is green, and it is red when there are errors. The 1785-L30B is to be operated in an ambient temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius in a non-condensing humidity range of 5 to 95%. The 1785-L30B has a backplane current of 2.5 Amps at 5 Volts DC. The 1785-L30B is to be installed and replaced by a person trained in the system to avoid any damage to the equipment. It is advised to follow the instructions mentioned by the manufacturer to prevent any improper connections and damages due to incorrect installation. The 1785-L30B has a maximum analog I/O of 1024. The maximum word memory of the controller is 32K words and the RAM has battery backup to prevent the loss of data in case of power failure.
