The 1784-U2DHP cable is a USB to data highway plus (DH+) cable manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is an industrial-grade cable that allows an operator to connect a computer to a DH+ network via the computer's USB connection. The same cable can be used to connect a PLC 5 processor to a computer. The cable can be utilized for overvoltage category II applications at altitudes up to 2000 meters without degrading. The cable must be powered by a source that adheres to the SELV and PELV specifications. The 1784-U2DHP cable includes a communication rate switch as well as an LED status indication. For various events such as power supply, network activity, node duplication, and internal diagnostics updates, the cable status lights blink red and green. Before adjusting the communication rate setting, detach the cord from the USB port. The 1784-U2DHP cable contains a USB connector on one end and an 8-pin DIN connector on the other. When the DH+ cable is connected for the first time, the node address is automatically set. For the cable to work, the driver must be correctly installed in the computer. Once the driver is installed, the cable gets its own COM port. The DIN cable is 2.44 meters long, while the USB cable is 0.61 meters long. The IP30 enclosure rating applies to the 1784-U2DHP cable. It dissipates 1.575 watts of power as heat. It operates on 125 milliamps of supply current and 5 volts of direct current. It features a 30-volt isolation voltage. The temperature should be between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius.
