The 1772-LZ Mini-PLC-2/02 processor is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation product used in a variety of applications and like many other industrial devices of this type, it can be programmed according to the user’s needs and requirements. The typical application of this processor uses an input voltage of 10 to 32 Volts DC (digital) and it has a screw torque rate of 7 to 9 pounds on an inch. The processor does not require any additional external power source and it is covered and protected with an industry-standard conformal coating. This mini processor module has a backplane requirement of 1.25 Amps at 5 Volts DC and it features an amperage of 0.80/0.40 Amps. The 1772-LZ processor works on 50/60 Hertz frequency and it has an output of 4 Amps at 5 Volts DC. It is relevant to mention that typical AC signal delay (off) of the processor is 29 (+/- 8) milliseconds and, on the other hand, typical DC signal delay (off) is 30 (+/- 7) milliseconds. The 1772-LZ processor is used with Allen Bradley’s wiring arm with the product code 1771-WN.
The 1772-LZ mini-PLC-2/02 processor has a solid memory for 2K 16-bit words and an EEPROM backup module for 4K words of data. The data table of this processor can be expanded up to 1920 words and it features EAF functions of up to 12 digits for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The 1772-LZ processor is also capable of performing other more complicated functions such as BCD to binary and vice versa, FIFO load/unload, square root, and similar functions. The capacity of this Allen Bradley processor includes 128 total I/O and 128 analog I/O and it has an impressive scan time of 12 milliseconds for standard application programs and a minimum of 7.5 milliseconds. The approximate weight of the processor is around 100 grams (0.2 pounds) and its dimensions include a width of 115 millimeters (4.5 inches), a height of 317 millimeters (12.4 inches) and a depth of 160 millimeters (6.3 inches). As far as the environmental conditions, this mini-PLC processor can operate in any standard industrial setting and at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. The processor can be equipped with an optional lithium battery for maintaining memory for up to a year, without the need to use an AC power source. From other available options, a 15-pin interface for further expansion of the processor’s capabilities is an interesting choice for any user.
