The 1772-LN2 is a microprocessor-based programmable controller that is designed for use in industrial applications. Created by Allen-Bradley, this module is adaptable both in terms of size and configuration. It is capable of monitoring and controlling over 128 I/O devices; with a central control unit plus several user-selected input and output modules, the 1772-LN2 is designed to meet all application demands. As an extremely flexible device the 1772-LN2 controller allows the user to select preferred modules and assemble a mini-PLC-2 controller that best suits any specific industrial requirements. Note that the selected I/O modules, together with the assembled Mini-processor unit, are all housed in a one Chassis. During operation, the 1772-LN2 continuously monitors the signal status of each input device, as well as an output device and the user program. Since the memory is programmable it can be readily modified whenever necessary. In addition, the PLC-2 processor can perform numerous functions, including block transfers, timing or counting, data comparisons, input/output forcing, arithmetic operations, and RS-232C or data highway interfacing.
With online data change, report generation, data highway interface, online programming, and selectable timed interrupt capabilities, the Allen-Bradley PLC-2 controller can serve as an incredible industrial application device.
