The Allen-Bradley 1771-WHF is a PLC-5 wiring arm that is used together with I/O modules. This amazing wiring arm module consists of twenty-one tin contact-plated terminals. There are also sixteen I/O available points in this unit. The entire 1771-WHF measures 4.5 x 12.4 x 6.3 inches and it has a weight of 0.3 pounds or 0.1 kilograms. This part features a maximum fuse current rating of 3 Amps and it has a conformal coating. It uses a thermoplastic material and it is important to note that users of this unit do not require an external source of power for this PLC-5 wiring arm. The applications that are fully compatible with this controller are those that have a general purpose and those that need their own circuit protection and a fused wiring arm.
The 1771-WHF also provides optimum fuse protection without the removal of a module from the chassis. This in turn helps to ensure that maximum connection integrity is guaranteed. This wiring arm also boasts of having the ability to make general plant wiring to the 1771 I/O modules very easy with flexible interconnections. The PLC-5 processors are available in a range of I/O capacities and memory sizes. The 1771-WHF can be connected to a variety of networks for distributed processing and I/O. During installation of the 1771-WHF, if the application needs one source of power for all the other circuits, users should install the jumper supplied with the wiring arm in order to connect the four terminals together. Make sure that you allow enough slack in the wiring at the bottom of the field-wiring arm. This will ensure that the wiring arm is able to pivot sufficiently on the horizontal bar, allowing module removal.
