The 1771-WH is a PLC-5 field wiring arm manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This unit is used with I/O modules and it consists of 21 gold contact plated terminals and 16 I/O available points. This wiring arm works together with a thermoplastic material, where it also features a conformal coating. This PLC-5 wiring arm has a capacity that is able to offer interconnections between Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O modules and plant wirings. These modules and wirings are very flexible and easy to use, where they help in ensuring integrity of connections. The whole 1771-WH measures 4.5 x 12.4 x 6.3 inches and it has a total weight of 0.21 pounds or 0.1 kilograms. It also features tin contact plating and 7-9 pounds on an inch in screw torque.
The Allen-Bradley 1771 Series Universal wiring arm product line gives a complete I/O range for a wide variety of applications. These modules are designed in a way that they can be used in a processor-resident local I/O chassis of a PLC-5 controller. This is especially possible at a location remote from the processor in a chassis with a 1771-ACN15 or -ACNR15 I/O adapter on a ControlNet link with the processor. It can also be used at a location remote from the processor in a chassis with a 1771-ASB I/O adapter on a Universal Remote I/O link with the processor. With the 1771 series, users do not need to do wire disconnecting to replace a module because of its RIUP (Removal and Insertion Under Power) features. During the installation of the 1771-WH, it is important to note that failure to remove power from the backplane or wiring arm could cause module damage, degradation of performance, or injury. In addition, if power is not removed from the backplane, it may lead to equipment damage or injury because of possible anticipated operation.
