The Allen-Bradley-Rockwell Automation 1771-WD PLC-5 field wiring arm is used with the 1771-ID01 digital AC/DC input module from the 1771 family of products. This module requires a 220 Volts AC/DC voltage and it is mostly used in applications operating on multiple phases with an isolated circuit. The module’s operating voltage is between 184 and 276 Volts AC and 18 to 276 Volts DC and it has a backplane current load of 74 milliamps. The wiring arm has a typical AC signal delay (off) of 29 milliseconds with tolerable variations of +/- 8 milliseconds, and a typical DC signal delay (off) of 30 (+/- 7) milliseconds.
The 12-terminal 1771-WD field wiring arm is supplied with the module it is to be used with. The maximum number of supported I/O inputs for this model is 8 and it also supports up to 12 terminals which have tin contact plating. The conformal coating protects the wiring arm which has a screw torque rating of 7-9 pounds on an inch. The material selected for the outer shell of 1771-WD is thermoplastic, typically used for supplementary industrial parts. The intended role for the wiring arm is to provide significant flexibility and easy operating by offering interconnection between plant wirings and I/O modules from the 1771 series. Incoming wires can be easily and directly connected to the wiring arm using a spade lug or a clamp.
The approximate dimensions of the 1771-WD include a width of 114.3 millimeters (4.5 inches), a height of 314.9 millimeters (12.4 inches), and a depth of 160 millimeters (6.3 inches). The PLC-5 wiring arm is very light and weighs only 100 grams or 0.2 pounds. The module for this wiring arm can withstand a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and it can be stored in a place with ambient temperature ranging from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). Also, these modules operate in relative non-condensing humidity levels between 5 and 95%.
