The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1771-WA PLC5 wiring arm is intended for use with digital AC output modules from the 1771 product family, and its main function is to ensure the integrity of connections to input and output modules. This field wiring arm is manufactured from solid thermoplastic material and it features eight Input/Output points and ten terminals. Nine terminals out of ten have contact platings made of tin and one remaining terminal that has a gold contact plating. The users can easily remove the module from the chassis without disconnecting wiring by using the wiring arm. When using the wiring arm, the users should make sure that all power is removed from the module before making any connections. The 1771-WA wiring arm swings into position on the module’s front side and it secures into place through the locking tab on the module.
The wiring arm does not require an external power and it is often used for standard applications requiring a 24 to 220 Volts AC/DC power source. For an additional protection, the 1771-WA wiring arm is protected with a special conformal coating. The 1771-WA PLC5 wiring arm features a typical AC signal delay (off) of 29 milliseconds (+/- 8) and a typical DC signal delay (off) of 30 milliseconds (+/- 7). The 1771-OP digital AC output module is in the 120 Volts AC voltage category and its operating voltage is between 92 and 138 Volts AC and it can use the 1771-WA. The modules have a 2 Amps maximum continuous current (per output), a 6 Amps maximum current (per module) and a 350 milliamps backplane current load. The approximate dimensions of the wiring arm include a width of 114.3 millimeters (4.5 inches), a height of 314.9 millimeters (12.4 inches), and a depth of 160 millimeters (6.3 inches). The weight of the wiring arm is approximately 100 grams or 0.2 pounds.
