The 1771-QDC is a plastic molding module from the 1771 series, manufactured and designed by Allen-Bradley. This module controls the operations performed by a series of parts that are in charge of injecting, ejecting, and clamping phases in an injection process. The Allen-Bradley 1771-QDC plastic molding module offers 4 analog inputs and 4 analog outputs. It has an accuracy of 0.1% full-scale at 25 degrees Celsius and an input impedance of 50,000 ohms. It also provides protection for output overload that protects the module against short circuitS for one minute maximum. This module has certain environmental conditions to be followed in order to extend the life of the module. The unit can operate safely at a temperature range that goes from 0 to 85 degrees Celsius and at a relative humidity of 5 to 95% without condensation. When operating, the unit has a thermal dissipation of 21 BTU per hour. The unit can be stored in a dry environment with a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
The Allen-Bradley 1771-QDC plastic molding module controls the injection phase which is a 10-step profile with transitions. It controls the pack, hold, plastication, clamp close, clamp low pressure close, clamp open, clamp open slowly, and the ejector phases of a plastic molding machine. It also features alarms and other control options for transitions. In order to avoid electromagnetic interference, the 1771-QDC module must be grounded and installed using shielded cables. It is important and recommended to use a wiring arm, which will let the operators install or remove the module without the need to rewire everything again. It also offers mobility to the module.
