The 1771-QB is a linear positioning module manufactured by Allen-Bradley and designed under the standards of the 1771 series. This module is a dual-loop position controller that functions in a simple slot in the Allen-Bradley 1771 chassis. This module has the ability to control the servo, hydraulic, or electrode servos and it can be used to control and monitor the linear position of another machine or tool on one or two axes. The position is measured with a linear displacement transducer. The Allen-Bradley 1771-QB linear positioning module requires an input external power of 15 Volts DC minimum and 24 Volts DC minimum at 50 milliamps maximum. It has a thermal dissipation of 12.0 to 18.0 watts and a velocity of 3276.7 millimeters per second. The environmental conditions for the Allen-Bradley 1771-QB linear positioning module are an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 5 to 95 percent.
The Allen-Bradley 1771-QB linear positioning module has three indicators, Loop 1 Active and Loop 2 Active, which are two green indicators that are on when each loop is active, and a Fault indicator, that lights up when there is a fault in one or both loops. This indicator is usually off. When installing or dealing with spare parts of the Allen-Bradley 1771-QB linear positioning module, it is important to maintain a workplace that is static-free, since electrostatic discharge can degrade the performance or damage some parts of the module. It is also important to include the module on a grounded system in order to prevent, electromagnetic interference.

The 1771-QB module is a linear positioning module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is a dual-loop position controller that is attached to the 1771 universal I/O chassis. This controller helps to control servo hydraulic valves and electric motors. The position of these devices is measured by using a displacement transducer and the feedback is sent to the positioning module. The positioning module then calculates the correct position for these devices and sends feedback to the servo valve. It has a current rating of 1.6 Amps and it is supplied with 5 Volts DC voltage. The module has a power dissipation of 18 Watts. The 1771-QB module comes with a 12-bit resolution and a slot width of 1. A keyswith is present on the front of the module that can be switched between the 16/18 and 30/32 positions. An isolation voltage of 1500 Volts exists between the I/O circuit and control logic.
The PLC 5 series 1771-QB linear positioning module can be used in a temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. The front section of the 1771-QB module has LED indicators that turn on when the power is supplied to the module. The Loop 1 and Loop 2 ACTIVE indicators turn off during the diagnostics phase. The Fault indicator illuminates when a module fault is detected during the diagnostics phase. The module update time period is set at 2 milliseconds per axis. The 1771-QB module draws power from the internal circuitry and it communicates with other devices by using the I/O chassis. This positioning module uses the 1771-WN wiring arm. It has a small form factor and it can be easily installed in tight spaces.
The PLC 5 1771-QB module is an Allen-Bradley linear positioning module. It is made to be installed in the 1771 I/O chassis.
