The Allen-Bradley 1771-PS7 is a 120 to 220 Volt AC External Power Supply with User Power. The 1771-PS7 unit provides +5 Volts DC (16 Amps max.) for 1771-I/O chassis backplane power. It also provides user power for 120AR, IMC 120, 121 and 123 motion controllers, and for non-IMC products. These modules are powered with 5 Volts DC (8 Amps maximum), 15 Volts DC (2 Amps maximum), -15 Volts DC (2 Amps maximum), and +24 Volts DC (2.5 Amps maximum). The user should calculate the power requirements and respect power limits of this module. Limits are 80 Watts for the backplane power, or 65 Watts for the user power, or 100 Watts for total system power (combined backplane and user power). This unit is supplied with 220 Volts AC or 110 Volts AC over 3 Amps normal blow fuse.

The 1771-PS7 power supply module is installed in an I/O chassis with the power supply configuration jumper set to “N” position. On the right side of the module, there is a D-sub power connector that provides power to the I/O chassis backplane. For user power supply this unit offers 4 connectors for distributing power through 1771-CAS cables to modules inside of an I/O chassis. Before connecting these cables, ensure that the power supply is turned off. The 1771-PS7 can be operated at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures. Its shipping weight is approximately 6.5 pounds (2.95 kilograms). The dimensions of this power supply unit are 115 x 315 x 183 millimeters (4.53 x 12.41 x 7.2 inches).

About 1771-PS7

The 1771-PS7 module is a PLC 5 AC power supply with user power that has been designed by Allen-Bradley. This module provides power for several functions such as the backplane power for the 1771 I/O chassis and the user power for different controller modules such as the IMC 120, 120AR, 121, and 123 motion controller modules. The output voltage of the module goes from 5 Volts to 24 Volts maximum. The Allen-Bradley 1771-PS7 AC power supply can limit the backplane power level to 80 Watts or limit the user power level to 65 Watts. It can also limit total system power to 100 Watts. This is useful for controlled applications that handle limited quantities of resources.

Before mounting the Allen-Bradley 1771-PS7 AC power supply, the I/O chassis must be installed and functioning properly. A power supply configuration jumper needs to be added and then configured to the “N” position for this module. This module comes with a D-sub power connector that provides power to the I/O chassis backplane. This module comes with a nominal input voltage of 120 Volts AC and an input voltage range of 97 to 132 Volts AC with a frequency range of 47 to 63 Hertz. The Allen-Bradley 1771-PS7 AC power supply provides a backplane voltage of 5 Volts AC at a current of 16 Amps and fuse rated for 3 Amps. This module can operate in specific environmental conditions such as an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity range of 5 to 95 percent without condensation. This module can be connected with 3 different cables with lengths of 1.68, 0.33, and 1.2 meters.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-PS7 AC power supply operates with an AC voltage of 120 Volts AC. It can be used with different devices within the 1771 PLC 5 series.
