The Allen-Bradley 1771-PA is a stand-alone power supply that is part of the 1771 Controller System line in the PLC-5 series. It operates at a 120 to 220 Volts AC input source power. The nominal input voltage rating for this power supply module is 1 Amp at 120 Volts AC and 0.5 Amps at 220 Volts AC. It also comes with a frequency rating of 50 to 60 Hertz. This module has a fuse rating of 3 Amps at 250 Volts normal blow, and it also has 16 Amps backplane output current rating at 5 Volts DC. When used with any PLC-5 processor, adapter module, or Mini PLC-2/02, PLC-2/05, PLC-2/16, or PLC-2/17 programmable controller, the 1770-PA power supply can turn on one 1771 chassis.
The 1771-PA has 108 watts max real input power, 176 VA max apparent input power, and 270 VA max Xformer load. This power supply also uses cablings 1771-CP1 Local, -CP2 Remote (5 feet), and -CP3 Remote (5 feet). It is also an open-type power supply that needs an appropriate enclosure before mounting and 6 inches minimum vertical clearance. However, the 1771-PA is not created for parallel connections because it may cause processor memory loss or damage due to unpredicted machine operation. Users can mount this power supply as it is or with a panel-mounted chassis but they should only use the provided mounting screws upon shipment. The 1771-PA power supply is sensitive to electrostatic discharge. To avoid performance decline and system component damage, do not touch the backplane connector or connector pins. This power supply module also ships with a static-shield bag. Users may store the power supply on this bag when it is not in use.
