The 1771-P6S is an auxiliary power supply module that is designed to be used along with the 1771 systems made by Allen-Bradley. They are installed in the I/O chassis of the 1771 modules. The 1771-P6S generates a shutdown signal whenever the input supply voltage drops below a predetermined value. The input line voltage for the module is 220 Volts AC and it can vary from 194 Volts AC to 264 Volts AC. The maximum power of the module is 56 Watts. The shutdown signal which is generated turns off only when the input voltage has dropped down to the specified limits. This helps to retain only the valid data in the memory module. The module can be configured to support remote or local sensing based on the jumper settings.
The 1771-P6S provides an output voltage of 5 Volts DC and 8 Amps. Users can also connect two power supplies in parallel to provide more output power using the supplied parallel cable and setup communication. The ambient operating temperature of the module should be between 0 to 60 degrees Celsius in a non-condensing humid environment having a humidity range of 5 to 95%. While installing the module, make sure to follow the necessary safety guidelines specified by the manufacturer. The device is also sensitive to electrostatic discharge and users should wear electrostatic wrist straps to prevent damage due to ESD. The device is UL listed and CE and CSA certified. Make sure to check all the connections before the power supply to the system is turned on to prevent any improper connections and damage to the equipment.
