The 1771-P6R is a redundant power supply module for the 1771 series of PLC-5 systems. These modules are manufactured by Allen-Bradley and are UL listed, CE certified, and CSA certified. The 1771-P6R is installed in a single slot of the I/O chassis of the 1771 module. The jumper settings lets the operators configure the power supply to support either remote or local sensing on the module. Users can also set the ID by using the ID selection switches for the identification if the redundant system. The 1771-P6R requires an input voltage of 220 Volts AC having a line frequency of 50 to 60 hertz. The input voltage can vary from 194 Volts AC to 240 Volts AC.
The 1771-P6R provides a backplane current of 300 mA at 5 Volts DC and the output current is 8 Amps at 5 Volts DC. The users can connect 3 or 4 power supplies together in parallel by using the parallel connectors and by daisy chaining them and building a redundant system. The system is shipped with a redundancy cable for connecting it to the module. The 1771-P6R must be ideally operated in an environment having an ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a humidity range that is non-condensing and rated between 5 and 95%. When installing the module, operators should keep two adjacent slots open for installing the redundant supply modules and connecting the modules only when the power is turned off to prevent any electric shock and damage to the equipment. The module should be replaced by personnel who are trained with and familiar with the 1771 system.
