The 1771-P5EK is a power supply module from Allen-Bradley for the 1771 series of I/O modules which are manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This power supply module is conformally coated and so it can withstand changes in the temperature and humidity. The conformal coating helps in protecting the printed circuit board from harsh environments. The ambient operating temperature at which the power supply module should be operated should be between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and the storage temperature for the device must be between -45 and 80 degrees Celsius. It also has protection from EMI interferences and the module is fitted into the I/O chassis of the 1771 system in 2 slots.
The 1771-P5EK has an input voltage requirement of 24 Volts DC which can range from 20.5 Volts DC to 30 Volts DC. The module provides a backplane current of 8 Amps and an output voltage of 5 Volts DC. The power output of the module is 57 Watts and the module can be connected in parallel with another power supply module if the current requirement is increased. The module is UL listed, CSA certified, and CE certified for use. It has to be replaced by people those who are trained in servicing the system to prevent any damage to the equipment. Additional safety guidelines and local electrical safety regulations must be followed to prevent damage to the equipment and for the safety of the personnel. Make sure the input voltage is turned off when replacing the module and the system is disconnected from other peripheral devices.
