The 1771-P5E is manufactured by Allen-Bradley for the 1771 series of PLC5 systems. It is installed in the 1771 I/O chassis. Users can install it in any two adjacent slots in the chassis. The power supply module provides power to the other peripherals connected to the I/O chassis. The module supplies an output voltage of 5 Volts DC and the maximum output current is 8 Amps. It has an output power of 57 Watts and it is specifically designed to connect with another 1771-P5E module in parallel. It should not be connected with any other power supply in parallel, because this may damage the equipment and also the power supply module. The input voltage range can vary from 20.5 Volts DC to 30 Volts DC.
The module has a built-in self diagnostic mode which shows the status of the module through a green LED indicator. It can detect over voltage, under voltage, and over current conditions.
