The 1771-P4R is an Allen-Bradley Redundant Power Supply. It requires 120 Volts AC voltage at the input side. This module is rated for 8.0 Amps at 5 Volts DC. This redundant power supply module is compatible with 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, 1771-A3B1, 1771-A4B, and 1771-PSC I/O chassis. This module cannot be used with the 1771-P4R redundant power supply with series A 1771 I/O chassis. The packing list of the 1771-P4R order number part includes 1771-P4R power supply module, 3-position and 5-position terminal blocks, and one redundant cable. The 1771-P4R module can be configured over jumpers to support local or remote sensing. The user should check this jumpers before installation to provide the proper voltage regulation for system applied supply configuration. There are two indicators on the front panel of the module. The top one is yellow and is labeled “Non-redundant system”, meaning that the number of power supplies that are active is below the number necessary to perform the redundant operation. The lower one is green and is denoted as ”P/S active” and signals normal operation or alarm status.
When using the 1771-P4R in a redundant power supply system, assign it a unique identification number. To do this, approach identification selection switches on the left side of the power supply unit. The first four switches on this module are used to give an ID to a redundant power supply and switches 5 and 6 are used to determine the configuration zone being used (according to the maximum chassis current draw of the I/O chassis). The 1771-P4R module weight is approximated at 0.85 kilograms (2 pounds). Its enclosure is IP00 rated. This module can operate at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).
