The 1771-OZL is a digital I/O relay contact output module that belongs to the 1771 series, designed by Allen-Bradley. This module should be used for switching resistive loads only. It is not suitable to work with inductive or capacitive loads. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZL digital I/O relay contact output module operates with a voltage rating of 0 to 24 Volts AC or 0 to 24 Volts DC, a current rating and surge current of 100 milliamperes per output and a power rating of 2.4 Watts per output. It has a thermal dissipation of maximum 7.6 BTU on an hour and a minimum 6.9 BTU on an hour. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZL digital I/O relay contact output module has dry-reed relays, which are hermetically sealed, this allows them to withstand harsh environments. This type of relays is intended for low-power and low-voltages applications. With dry-reed relays it is utterly important to avoid surges since they could cause damages and reduce the lives of the relays. In case surges exist, they should not exceed either the voltage or current rating of the module.
The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZL digital I/O relay contact output module is highly sensitive to electrostatic discharges, it is recommended to work on a static-free workstation while installing it. The environmental conditions are an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity without condensation of 5 to 95%. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OZL digital I/O relay contact output module has a status indicator integrated for each one of the outputs and it also requires a wiring arm to be connected to the chassis.
