The Allen-Bradley 1771-OX is a Power Relay Contact Output Module from 1771 series. This unit has 4 output points that are configurable as normally open or normally closed contacts that can operate voltages in the range of 0-250 Volts AC RMS or 0 to 175 Volts DC. Their current specification limits output usage at 2 Amps. The power rating is 200 VA. This particular bulletin 1771 module is engineered to have selectable DC surge protection. On the front panel of the Allen-Bradley 1771-OX there are indicators that symbolize the output relay coils' state. They are on when output is being energized. They will help you to detect many types of external hardware-related faults when you compare output status with their coupled field device response. The delay of contact outputs is 10 milliseconds. During the installation of this unit pay attention to put keying on the backplane to pins 6 to 8 and 16 to 18. Another important thing is that this Relay Contact Output Module must be mounted in maximum 30 degrees vertical for its mercury-wetted relays to be able to work without problems. When used with loads containing an inductance component (for example coils, relays, and motor starters) you are advised to use “snubber” (RC network) when connecting these loads. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OX is open (IP00) rated and should be used in surroundings with the maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). Its power dissipation ranges from 2.6 to 2.9 Watts. This bulletin 1771 module is CL certified and UL listed. It also has CE mark.
