The 1771-OWK is a 1771 series Digital Relay Contact Output Module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is delivered with 8 (four sets of two) relay outputs. Each set has its own common. These relay outputs are capable of switching a 24 to 235 Volt DC voltage or a 24 to 138 Volts AC voltages and each of them is electrically-isolated. By default, these digital contacts are set to be normally open, but you can change this by moving jumpers located inside the housing of the 1771-OWK module. The device is conformal coated and it is IP00 rated when it comes to protection against dust and water. To install this contact output module in one of I/O chassis (1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, or 1771-A4B) you must set proper keying on the chassis backplane pins. Put the keying bands between pins 6 and 8, and between pins 16 and 18. You only can’t use the leftmost backplane connector reserved for processor modules. This module does not have power connecting terminals, it is power supplied through the chassis backplane and it draws a maximum current of 0.7 Amps. The Allen-Bradley 1771-OWK is operated at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) temperatures. Operation at temperatures from a lower segment of this span is recommended to extend relay contact life. The operating time of relays is 5 milliseconds (±1 millisecond), the maximum switching frequency is 10 Hz, and bounce time will not exceed 1 millisecond. The product meets low voltage and EMC directives and is approved for installation within the European Union and EEA region. It is CSA certified and UL listed.
