The 1771-OQ16K is a conformally-coated module that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is a member of the 1771 Digital DC Output product line for PLC-5 systems. The 1771-OQ16K is a 24 Volt DC isolated output module with 16 outputs per module. Each of these outputs are individually fused. This module also features 18 LED indicators – 16 output status indicators, an active indicator, and a blown fuse indicator. It functions at a voltage rating of 10 to 32 Volts DC and is part of a sink or source voltage category. Additionally, the 1771-OQ16K shows a better module performance even in highly humid or corrosive areas. It can also function at offshore marine environment and saline-fog or salt-contaminated areas.
The equipments under Allen-Bradley’s 1771 Digital DC Output series (including the 1771-OQ16K) are available as “open-type” modules. It means that these equipments must be installed in an enclosure that is appropriately designed to withstand specific environmental conditions. To avoid electrical arc, you must only remove or insert the module while the backplane power is OFF. It also applies for connecting or disconnecting the wiring arm. The output current for the 1771-OQ16K is from 5 mA to 2 A and its maximum current is at 32A per module. It normally functions at 0 to 45 degrees Celsius temperature and can handle surge current of up to 4 A for 10 milliseconds per output maximum. With its category number 1771-WN field wiring arm feature, terminal wiring connections to this module is possible. It is perfect to use for general purpose applications or for demands involving isolated circuits. As an isolated module, the 1771-OQ16K is also relevant to use for motor control centers that need separate control transformers.
