The Allen-Bradley 1771-OQ is a 24 Volt isolated module that belongs to 1771 Digital DC Output Modules of the PLC-5 series. It has 8 electronically-guarded outputs (4 groups of 2 where each groups shares a common DC supply) and operates at 20.4 to 26.4 Volts DC. These outputs hold jumpers, but they should be removed if you’re using solenoids. This is to help decrease the solenoid’s turn-off time and off-state clamping voltage. The 1771-OQ module is ideal for applications requiring isolated circuits with a -V DC signal termination. It is also efficient for motor management centers that require single control transformers. This module is also compatible for both suspended and current chassis. The 1771 Digital DC Output Modules of Allen-Bradley (including the 1771-OQ module) runs the ON/OFF condition of DC user equipment. These output devices typically include solenoids, indicators, and motor starters. They support high-power operations and give system protection and troubleshooting assistance. The front panel of each module under this product line has status indicators that showcases the ON/OFF status of a single input or output. They also come with internal clamping diodes that shield output transistors against high-voltage transients.
The 1771-OQ module has a 225 mA backplane current requirement via 1771 I/O chassis backplane power supply. It can be placed into any chassis slit excluding the left most part which is limited for processors or adaptors. Make sure to align the keying bands to their corresponding module slots using your fingers only. The use of tools during connection may result to possible system failure or backplane connector damage. The 1771-OQ module also comes with a 1771-WF field wiring arm.
