The 1771-OFE2K is a conformally coated analog output module, manufactured by Allen Bradley. Conformal coating is required because for precision circuits the accuracy of the device can degrade if the surface becomes contaminated due to fingerprints which lead to low conductive paths in the presence of moisture. It also helps in sustaining the device from sudden changes of temperature and humidity and ensures longer life expectancy of the device. The 1771-OFE2K has four isolated differential outputs which can be selected by sending a 12-digit binary data or a 4 digit BCD data. The device has an output in current form, the output current ranges from 4 to 20 milliAmps. The 1771-OFE2K can be installed in any slot of the 1771 I/O chassis. Care must be taken that the module is not placed in the same module group as a discrete high-density module. In Addition, it should be kept away from AC modules and high voltage DC modules. 0 to 60 degrees Celsius is the ambient operating temperature for the device and -40 to 85 degrees is the recommended storage temperature. The environment in which the 1771-OFE2K is operated should have a humidity of 5 to 95%. 1771-OFE2K requires no jumper settings for the output as these jumpers are pre-configured. The 1771-OFE2K is designed and certified to be operated according to the EMC directive and the Low voltage directive. It is also UL listed and it is CE certified. The 1771-OFE2K is designed for use in an industrial environment.
