The 1771-OFC is an analog output module which is manufactured by Allen Bradley for the PLC controllers. It is a 12-bit module which generates analog signals at the outputs. By sending a 12-bit binary data or a 3 bit BCD data you can select the output channel on the 1771-OFC. It operates on an input voltage of 92 to 138 Volts AC. It can provide up to 2 Amps of continuous current for each output and the maximum current per module is 6 Amps. A Backplane current of 1.4 Amps at 5 Volts DC is required for the 1771-OFC. When installing the 1771-OFC it is necessary that two adjacent slots are made available as the module requires two slots for installation in the chassis. It has four single ended output channels.
The 1771-OFC requires an additional power supply along with the I/O chassis power. When using the external power supply, you can use the power cable to connect the power to the field wiring arm. If you are using an equivalent power supply, the connections would be provided by the manufacturer of the supply. The modules can be re-calibrated with the appropriate test equipment’s on the field if these modules are used for the ranges other than which they are mentioned for. The range of the module can be identified by the last two digits of the part. The operating temperature for the device is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius in a non-condensing humid environment having a humidity of 5 to 95%.
