The 1771-OF05 is an analog output module manufactured by Allen Bradley for the 1771 series of PLC5 controllers. The 1771-OF05 outputs have a current range from 4 to 20 million Amperes. The backplane current for the device is 350 Mill amperes and the continuous current per output is 2 Amperes. The 1771-OF05 can be connected with various controllers such as Mini PLC-2, Mini-PLC-2/15, PLC-2/30, PLC-2/30 and PLC 3. The module has a fault indicator LED which flashes in red when a fault occurs. It also has a opto-isolation of 1500 Volts to protect the module from overvoltage conditions on the input side.
This unit is a 12-bit module which generates analog output signals based on the application. The user can select the output signal by sending a 12-digit binary value or a 3-digit BCD value. The 1771-OF05 can be mounted on a rack as it is designed for rack mounting. The input operating voltage for the 1771-OF05 is single phase 92 to 138 Volts AC. When installing the 1771-OF05 make sure the power supply to the system is turned OFF. All the connected peripherals and the processor boards need to be turned OFF. After the installation before switching ON the power make sure the connections are secure and done as per the manufacturer’s instructions. The operating conditions where the 1771-OF05 is installed should be in accordance to the instructions in the manual. To prevent the damage to the equipment and for safety the installation should be done by a person trained on the system.
