The Allen Bradley 1771-OD is an AC isolated output module that has 6 outputs. A single output from the 1771-OD module can be used to drive a size 5 Allen Bradley motor making sure the voltage is maintained at or above 105 Volts AC. The module occupies a single slot in the 1771 Input Output chassis except the left most slot which is reserved for the processor. The maximum load current for the 1771-OD is 60 milliAmperes per output. If this current rating is exceeded, the module will overheat causing malfunctioning and or damage. The 1771-OD operates within a voltage range of between 92 and 138 Volts alternating current at a frequency of between 47 to 63 Hertz. The module has an output current of 6 amperes per module and 2 Amperes per output. The 1771-OD has a maximum surge current of 20 Amperes at 120 Volts for 100 milliseconds which is repeated every 5 seconds. At a 5 Volt direct current, the 1771-OD draws a current of 225 milliamperes from the backplane and at 138 volts alternating current, the module has a maximum off-state leakage current of 5 milliamperes per output. The minimum and maximum power dissipation rating for the 1771-OD AC isolated output model is 1.2 and 13.2 Watts respectively. Additionally, the module dissipates a maximum heat of 45.2 BTU per hour and 4.1 BTU (minimum) per hour. The 1771-OD module has a channel-channel and backplane-channel opt-electrical isolation tested for 1 second at 1200V AC and 1800 Volts respectively. When keying to the backplane, the 1771-OD uses pins 4 to 6 and 30 to 32. The module uses busman MTH5, IEC 127 type F fuses rated 5A, 250 Volts.
