The 1771-OC is a DC output driver module from Allen Bradley. The module is recommended to be used in industrial environments with a degree 2 pollution. Its over voltage specifications fall under category I as defined by the IEC (publication 60664-1) at a non derating altitude of 2000 meters (maximum). The 1771-OC can be used to control the on/off status of; DC motor starters, solenoids, and indicators. The module has 8 outputs, a max. on-state voltage drop of 2 Volts DC, and occupies a slot in the 1771 Input Output chassis. The maximum and minimum power dissipation rating for the 1771-OC module is 16.9 and 0.9 Watts respectively. It also has a 10 Watts power dissipation rating for adjacent slot.

The 1771-OC DC output driver module has minimum thermal dissipation rating of 3 BTU per hour and a maximum of 57.6 BTU per hour. At 5 Volts DC, the module exerts a current load of 165 milliamperes on the backplane. The 1771-OC module, has a user output voltage that ranges from 42 to 50 Volts DC, an output current rating of 1.5 amperes per output, and a maximum surge current of 4 Amperes repeated each 1 second for 1 milliseconds. The module leaks 5 milliamperes per output at 120 Volts AC. The opto-electrical isolation for the 1771-OC module is 1000 Volts AC tested for 60 seconds. Additionally, the 1771-OC module uses the 1771-WA field wiring arm, 2A, 250 Volt fuses, and a wire size of 2.5 to 0.25 millimeters squared copper wire with a temperature rating greater than 75 degrees Celsius. When in operation, the module can withstand a shock of 30g and a vibration of 2 g at 10 to 500 Hertz. The 1771-OC module is powered through the backplane.
