The 1771-OBDS is a DC current limiting output module from Allen Bradley. The module has 16 outputs, a voltage range (output) of between 10 and 40 volts direct current, and a common off-on, on-off signal delay of 1 milliseconds. At 5 Volts DC, the 1771-OBDS modules draws a current of 300 milliamperes from the backplane. The module has a maximum power dissipation rating of 14 and 2 Watts minimum. The 1771-OBDS has a maximum on-state voltage drop of 1.5 Volts at a rated current, a maximum off-state leakage current of 0.5 milliamperes per output, and a maximum adjacent slot power dissipation of 10 Watts. The thermal dissipation rating for the 1771-OBDS is 47.8 BTU/hour and 6.9 BTU/hour maximum and minimum respectively.

The 1771-OBDS DC current limiting output module has an isolation voltage tested at 500 Volts for a maximum of 60 seconds. The module can operate within a shock of 30g. When not in operation the 1771-OBDS module has a shock rating of 50g and a storage temperature ranging between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. Also, the module can accommodate a vibration of 2g at 10 to 500 Hertz when in operation. The module has an EFT/B immunity and surge transient immunity of +-1kV at 5 kHz (signal ports) and +-1kV line to line (+-2kV line to earth) on signal ports.

Additionally, the 1771-OBDS module has an ESD, radiated RF, and conducted RF immunity of 4kV (direct discharge), 10V/m (1kHz sine wave (80 percent) AM 30 to 1000 MHz), and 10V RMS (1kHz sine wave (80 percent) AM 150 to 30MHz). The 1771-OBDS module can be used to drive terminals (directly) on either the 1771-IBD, 1771-ICD, or 1771-IB. When using the 1771-OBDS module to drive the terminals it is recommended you power all the modules from the same power supply so that the ground potential is equal and to have a uniform phase.
