The 1771-NR is a high resolution isolated RTD input module from Allen-Bradley/ Rockwell Automation. The module has a length of 4.4 inches, 1.5 inches width, and 11.8 inches height. The 1771-NR module has 8 isolated channels and puts a load of 1.5 Amps on the backplane. The recommended operating and non-operating shock are 30 and 50g, respectively. The module can also accommodate vibration (operating) of 2g at 10 to 500 Hertz and it is UL-listed. For keying, the module uses pins 26-28 and pins 32-34. The input filtering rating for the 1771-NR module is 6-pole (low pass digital filter).

The 1771-NR module has an upscale open input detection that takes 5 seconds to detect an open input and it has a normal excitation current (RTD) of 1 milliamps. At 50 to 60 Hertz, the 1771-NR has a normal mode rejection of 50 to 60dB and a common mode rejection rating of 150dB.
Additionally, the 1771-NR has a maximum settling time (to within 0.1 percent, full-scale) of 125 milliseconds, an input bandwidth of 9 Hertz, and an underrange threshold of 0.9 ohms (650 ohms overrange). The 1771-NR module is a high-resolution I/O module that has been designed by Allen-Bradley and included in the 1771 line of I/O modules and in the PLC 5 series. This specific I/O module has been designed to be used with the Allen-Bradley 1771 Remote Termination Panels (RTPs) and it is meant to be connected by different cables for different functions. This module comes with 8 RTD channels. This means that each of the channels that come embedded in this module can be used with an RTP. The function of RTPs in an application can vary according to the model. These RTPs can work as cold junction devices for thermocouples, resistors and fuses, and as blocks that can be used with thermocouples.
