The 1771-NIVT is a high-resolution isolated analog input module from Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation. At 5 Volts, the module draws a 1.5 Amps current from the backplane and its power dissipation rating is 5.5 watts. When keying, the module uses pins 26 to 28 and pins 32 to 34. To ensure the optimal performance of the 1771-NIVT module, it needs to operate at temperatures ranging between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. Also, the relative humidity should be between 5 and 95% when in operation and between 5 and 85% when not in operation. When the module is not in use, store it in environments with a temperature of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
Note that operating temperature fluctuations greater than ½ a degree Celsius will negatively affect the performance of the module but only during the fluctuating periods. The 1771-NIVT module has 8 inputs (4-volt/current, 4-thermocouple). The voltage/current inputs have a voltage and current rating of +/-5 Volts and +/-20 milliamps, respectively. The thermocouple inputs have a rating of +/-100mV/TC. The 1771-NIVT has a channel-to-channel isolation rating of 1000 Volts. The isolation prevents the different voltages/currents on one channel from affecting the other channels. This gives room for connecting inputs that have different voltage/current requirements. The 1771-NIVT is part of the 1771 Series N high-resolution modules. The 1771-NIVT has a resolution of 16 bits and a one-year calibration interval. The module is installed in the 1771 Input/Output chassis and it uses the 1771-WH wiring arm which eliminates the need to rewire the whole system when installing or replacing the 1771-NIVT module.
