The Allen-Bradley 1771-LC3B is a single loop controller. The module is capable of controlling processes by communicating with the 1771 Input-Output structure through the DH-485 network (serial line) and the 1771 loop interface module. The 1771-LC3B module operates at a temperature of between 5 and 50 degrees Celsius, at a relative humidity of between 5 and 95% without condensation and it weighs 4500 grams. Also, the module has a loop update time of 100 milliseconds in normal operation and 200 milliseconds using the EXACT mode. The 1771-LC3B module provides application flexibility and auto tuning which uses the EXACT mode using the microprocessor to make current controller adjustments using real time values. Additionally, the module allows for precise control.
The 1771-LC3B contains a keypad on its face panel that enables loop configuration and acts as an operator interface. The keys have a delay of 0.2 seconds before they can be recognized by the loop. The users must press and hold the key for the delay time. The modules have an LCD for indicating the status, displaying a 50-segment bar graph in a graphical mode, and provides an alphanumeric display that accommodates two lines. The 1771-LC3B module has a resolution of +/-0.1 percent (upper range value) for numerical data and a resolution of +/-2 percent of span for the bar graphs. The module operates from either a DC or AC voltage. The power supply is connected to the module using a connector on the panel (rear side). The 1771-LC3B has 4 alarms that can be activated on any controller signal and operates at a frequency of 47-63 Hertz at a voltage of 120/240 Volts AC at a maximum of 30VA.
