The 1771-IXHR Thermocouple Millivolt input module is a bidirectional communication module when working with the processor and it can work with any programmable controller from the PLC-3 and PLC-5 group of the Allen Bradley modules. The module requires considerable storage space as it would be storing write and read block data. The 1771-IXHR moves words of the input data from its memory and takes it to an allocated area in the processor’s data table. The processes are compiled within a singular scan and this same transfer can occur from the processor’s data table to the memory of the module which qualifies your module as a bi-directional module. There can be an expected delay of 25 milliseconds between transfers from the block.
This module can be installed on any slot of the I/O chassis and 2 modules of the same group may be installed. Except when utilizing one or a half slot addressing, do not to place the module within the same group as a discrete high density one. For noise prevention, connect away from modules with a high voltage. A wiring arm may be connected to the pivot bar on the location of the module once it has been slotted on the I/O chassis. Use only the plastic keying bands that come with the module on shipment and keying would be done between 20 and 22 or 24 and 26. These positions may be changed should the need arise and you make use of some needle-nose pliers for the switching. This 1771 IXHR module may be used to replace the 1771 HE module within the same slots on the chassis.
