The 1771-IV is a driver logic input module made by Allen-Bradley. The module supports float switches, photoelectric switches, pushbuttons, selector switches, and direct current proximity switches that are 2 or 3-wired. The 1771-IV has input filtering mechanisms which help minimize the effects of transient voltages that arise from electrical noise or and contact bounce. The module contains an on/off input filtering delay of 15 milliseconds. The 1771-IV receives power through the chassis backplane, eliminating an external power supply.
The 1771-IV has 8 inputs and it has LED indicators on the face of the module which help in monitoring all the inputs and the module. The module has an opto-electrical isolation of 1500V RMS. The module’s current load is 74mA on the chassis backplane and it has an input voltage of between 12 and 24V DC. The module is meant to be operated in an industrial environment that has a non-condensing relative humidity of between 5 and 9%. When not in use, the 1771-IV driver logic input module should be stored at temperatures between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius.
The 1771-IV is capable of directly controlling the corresponding occurrences in a data table (processor). It has a maximum and minimum power dissipation rated at 5.8 and 0.4 watts, respectively. Additionally, the 1771-IV has a minimum of 1.3 and a maximum of 19.9 BTU per hour of thermal dissipation. The 1771-IV uses a field wiring arm (1771-WA) and its wiring arm screw torque should be between 7 and 9 inch pounds. Pins 8-10 and 12-14 are using for keying.
