The 1771-IMD is a digital DC/AC input module by Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley that has 16 inputs available for use within the design. As an input module, the 1771-IMD is designed by the manufacturer to operate with a nominal input voltage of 220V DC/AC at 50-60Hz, a nominal input current of 0.6mA, of 9.9mA at 50Hz, and of 10.4mA at 60Hz. The ON-state voltage range for 1771-IMD input module is 184-250V AC but 166-230V DC. The voltage range for the 1771-IMD input module during the OFF-state position is 92V AC/DC with the maximum OFF-state current being recorded as 3mA and 0.25mA, respectively. The minimum current during ON-state is 0.43mA at 166V DC and 8.7mA at 184V AC, at 50Hz.
The 1771-IMD digital input module has input signal delays and the ranges vary from OFF to ON state and back when on AC or on DC voltage. For AC, the input signal delay ranges between 7ms and 23ms from OFF to ON-state but when going from ON to OFF-state, the range is 116ms to 228ms for both AC and DC. The 1771-IMD design comes with a 370K resistor and this is parallel to the input impedance of 0.15µF capacitor while also in series with 1K Ω. The backplane current of 1771-IMD input module is 250mA at 5V DC, with the power dissipation set to range between 1.3W and 5.8W. The 1771-IMD module has the 1771-WA wiring arm for connection without interrupting the wiring system and its thermal dissipation is 4.5BTU/hr when on the low setting but it reaches a maximum of 19.8BT/hr.
