Other Available Revisions for the 1771-IGC 1771-IGC//A
The 1771-IGC is a digital Direct Current input module from Allen Bradley. This digital DC input module supplies the processor with logical level signals, which the 1771-IGC has converted from direct current signals. The module is a renew of the 1771-IG. The 1771-IGC operates at a voltage category of 5 Volts DC TTL, is rated to be operated at a voltage range of between 5.0 Volts and 5.3 Volts DC TTL, and has eight inputs. For troubleshooting and monitoring purposes, the 1771-IGC has 8 status indicators on its face panel which are used for TTL sensing. The 1771-IGC controls (directly) bit state (corresponding) in the PLC data table. To reduce the need for rewiring the whole system, the 1771-IGC uses a wiring arm (1771-WC). Apart from the module being budget conscious, it offers a way to add functionality in a PLC system through its modular design.
The 1771-IGC accommodates 2-slot, 1-slot, and ½-slot addressing and can be used to interface encoders (BCD and TTL). The 1771-IGC uses logic switches to define logic operations. The logic switches can either be set to high or low to indicate either true or false in any order. The module is isolated opto electrically from transient electrical charges. To minimize electrical noise, the 1771-IGC uses an input filter. The module draws a current of 122 mA from the backplane, has an input signal delay of less than 1 milliseconds and has 3 Watts maximum of power dissipation. The 1771-IGC has a dissipation (thermal) of 11.3 BTU per hour. The 1771-IGC occupies a single slot in the 1771 I/O chassis and must be installed in the same chassis with the PLC processor. The 1771-IGC uses pins 4 & 6 and 34 & 36 for keying the lower and the upper connectors respectively.
