The Allen-Bradley 1771-ID16 is a Series B 120 Volts AC/DC isolated circuit and it is used in various applications. This module belongs to the 1771 Digital AC/DC input module series and it is used in PLC-5 Processors. This module was manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The input module has a static-shielded package to protect it against damage from electrostatic discharge. It should be grounded or touched to a grounded object to discharge static. The connectors and pins on the board should not be touched. The 1771-ID16 has 120 Volts AC/DC isolated input and it has a factory-set filter time of 9 milliseconds. For filtering purposes, the default signal delay is 9/18 milliseconds for changing the AC inputs from on-to-off and 0.57 milliseconds for changing AC inputs from off-to-on. In case of DC current, it takes 9 milliseconds for changing from on-to-off and 0.57 milliseconds for changing from off-to-on. It comes with a custom input filtering jumper which prevents the voltage transients that are produced from the contact bounce or the electrical noise that radiates from it. There are two jumpers included to set the input filter time.
The first Jumper is called JPR 1 and it is used to set the input filter time for the inputs ranging from 00 through 07, and the second jumper is called JPR 2 and it is used to set the input filter time for the inputs ranging from 10 through 17. This module works with a 1771-A1B or 1771-A4B or later I/O chassis. Due to capacitive impedance input, an initial current associated with this input. A 1771-wn wiring arm comes with the package and it is connected with the input/output terminal via the pivot bar. This wiring arm has a 40-terminal field and it helps in the addition or removal of the module without the hassle of disconnecting the wires. The 1771-ID16 is used widely with different kinds of multi-phase applications and it can also be used easily with various types of switches like float-switches selector-switches, and limit-switches.
