The Allen Bradley 1771-ES is a Servo Encoder Feedback Expander module. The 1771-ES is a constituent part of the Servo Positioning Assembly (SPA). The 1771-ES occupies two slots in the 1771 Input Output chassis. The Servo Encoder feedback expander module caters for digital encoder feedback incrementally and provides three encoder multipliers which are programmable, for example x4, x2, and x1. Additionally, the 1771-ES has an 11200 or 1200 resistance on each input which can be selected individually using a switch. The 1771-ES uses a DAC converter with a signed 12-bit resolution, has an isolated voltage (max) of +/-10 Volts DC and draws a current of 1.7A maximum. The 1771-ES accommodates an encoder input voltage of 1.6 Volts DC and 1 Volt DC on maximum and minimum respectively. The module has a 20K ohms input resistance and a tachometer with a 50 Volt maximum and a 3 Volt minimum full-scale input. For keying into the I/O chassis, pins 2 and 4, 14 and 16 are for the left side and pins 4 and 6, 32 and 34 are for keying it to the right side are used.
The 1771-ES has a speed range (programmable) of between 0.0001 and 9990 inches per minute. Also, the module has acceleration and deceleration rating of 9999 inches/minute per second. When not in operation, the 1771-ES has a storage temperature rating of between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius and an operating temperature of between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. The 1771-ES has relative humidity rating of between 5 and 95% without condensation. The 1771-ES has +-999.999 inches programmable position (max).
