Other Available Revisions for the 1771-DMC 1771-DMC//A
The 1771-DMC is a Control Coprocessor Module from Allen Bradley. This module draws a current of 2.5 A at 5 Volts DC from the backplane when the Ethernet is not connected. A backplane current of 450 mA is generated by this module’s AUI port at 15 Volts DC. This module is programed using BASIC, assembler, and C programs. This helps the 1771-DMC module in performing complex math functions. To communicate with devices located outside the controller system, the 1771-DMC uses either the Ethernet or the asynchronous serial communication. The co-processor module has the ability to manipulate and access the I/O data that resides on the controller. For maximum performance of the 1771-DMC, it must be operated in an environment that has a temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of 5 to 95%, in order to avoid condensation. The 1771-DMC is stored at temperatures of between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. This module has Ethernet ports that use the TCP/IP protocol with socket routines and FTP or TELNET.
The Ethernet communication provides communication rates of between 38.4 Kbps and 10 Mbps on COMM1 and COMM0. Pins 24 & 26 and 30 & 32 are used for keying this module (main) to the upper (C) connector. The serial expander is keyed in on either the lower D connector using pins 16 & 18 and pins 2 & 4, or through the upper C connector, using pins 16 & 18. At COMM0, the 1771-DMC uses the 9-pin RS-232 with a category 2 wire, and at COMM1 this module uses the 25 pin RS-232, RS-423, RS-485, or the RS-422 as the communication ports.
