Other Available Revisions for the 1771-DL 1771-DL//A
The 1771-DL is a Gray Code Converter from Allen Bradley. The 1771-DL has 15 mA per bit at 27 DC and a 6 mA per bit at 10 Volts DC on an input sourcing current. This module is powered by a 12 or 24 Volt DC power source, which is attached between the absolute encoder and the 1771-WB wiring arm. The zero speed triac switch is turned on when the encoder is moving, and will turn off when the 1771-DL gray code converter module has sensed the motion and has stopped and on a selectable time. The 845A-SJZ3DN6DW, which is an 8-bit gray encoder bulletin, is compatible with the 1771-DL module. The PLC controller uses an 8 bit input, which is sourced from the 8-bit grey code and converted to an 8-bit binary number. The time delay of the 1771-DL can be set to between 6 and 0.3 seconds using the trim lock (knob) on the face of the module. This is done by turning the counter knob either clockwise or counterclockwise to increase and decrease the delay respectively. This knob also acts as a safety-interlock, which can be used to open the drive circuit when an encoder failure occurs. The 1771-DL module is rated for operation at temperatures not exceeding 60 degrees Celsius and not below 0 degrees Celsius. This module should be stored within temperatures that ranging from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and has an off-state maximum current leakage of 5mA, along with an on-state voltage drop of 2 Volts and a load current of 100mA. The 1771-DL communicates with a processor through the backplane, where it provides 8-bit 0-255 binary of output data to the processor.
