Other Available Revisions for the 1771-CX5 1771-CX5//A
The 1771-CX5 from Allen Bradley is a local Input/Output bus termination cable. The 1771-CX5 measures 5 meters in length and cannot be spliced to make a custom length to cover a distance greater than the 5 meters. The 1771-CX5 interfaces an extended local Input/Output adapter module, for example the 1771-ALX, in an Input/Output chassis with a local I/O scanner port (extended) of the PLC-5 processor using a local Input/Output link. This link is used for extension purposes. For connection, the 1771-CX5 has two ends to initiate connection; one end can be connected to a single port while the other end can be connected to 2 ports or terminals, since it has a dual end connector. This local Input/Output system can accommodate an extension link not exceeding 30.5 meters of cable. When connecting the 1771-CX5, the power supply to the local Input/Output adapter (extended) should be completely turned off to avoid damaging other modules and components on the extension link and to avoid injuring personnel. When connecting the 1771-CX5, the single-end connector goes to the PLC-5 processor’s channel 2. The cable’s other end, with the dual-end connector, is connected to the local Input/Output adapter module on the extension link. Tightening screw on either side of the 1771-CX5 should be used to firmly hold the 1771-CX5 local I/O bus termination cable in place. When the last extended local Input/Output adapter module is reached on the extension link, use the 1771-CX5 local Input/Output terminator for termination. The 1771-CX5 is installed on the dual end part which is exposed.
