Other Available Revisions for the 1771-CX2 1771-CX2//A
The Allen Bradley 1771-CX2 is a local I/O bus terminator cable. This cable, the 1771-CX2, is 2 meters long. It is used to connect extended local Input/Output adapters; the local Input/Output system can be extended to a maximum of 100 cable feet. When extending the local Input/Output system, the 1771-CX2 cable cannot be spliced to form a custom length. If this distance is more than the two meters allowed by the 1771-CX2 cable, use the 1771-CX5 cable instead, as it covers a distance of 5 meters. The power source in the extended local Input/Output adapter must be switched completely off before connecting the 1771-CX2 terminator cable. On one end, the 1771-CX2 has a single-end connector, while on the other end it has a dual-end connector. When connecting the 1771-CX2 local I/O terminator cable, the single-end connector goes into the channel 2 port of the PLC-5 processor; the 1771-CX2 is then routed to the first extended local Input/Output adapter, where the dual-end connector is inserted. If the current extended adapter is the last one on the extension link, use an 1771-CXT local Input/Output terminator to terminate the link. The 1771-CXT is fixed on the exposed part of the dual-end of the 1771-CX2 cable. The extended-Local I/O system cannot function without the termination. When the currently connected adapter module is not at the end of the link, the single end of the local Input/Output network cable should be connected to the adapter module on its free connector. For a successful attachment, make sure that clips on the mating connector have locked the two connectors.
