The 1771-ACNR15 is a ControlNet adaptor module from Allen-Bradley. It is meant to be used with the PLC-5 system. TheControlNet networks provide communication between the 1771 I/O modules and the ControlNet scanner port. It consumes a current of 1A from the backplane at 5V DC. The 1771-ACNR15 operates at a temperature between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and it has a storage temperature rating of -40-85 degrees Celsius. The module weighs 1 kg and measures approximately 3.5 x 6.5 x 2 inches. The 1771-ACNR15 has a communication rating of 5Mb per second.
The 1771-ACNR15 supports redundant media which has to be connected to Channel A or B from Trunk Line A or B, respectively. When connecting non-redundant media, Channel A should be used. When changing from the 1771-ACNR15 module to the 1771-ACN15 module or vice versa, the module type must be specified in the map table. The processor uses the map table to compare the origin and destination modules during communication. On the front part of the 1771-ACNR15module, there is a status and net address display. There also an OK indicator and ControlNet status indicators which help in the monitoring and troubleshooting duties.
The Allen-Bradley 1771-ACNR15 provides diagnostic messages, a high-speed data transfer, and a Network Access Portwhich enhances local communication. Additionally, the 1771-ACNR15 has a communication reset push button. This helps in restoring communication after an error. The 1771-ACNR15 ControlNet adapter module controls the remote 1771 remote I/O by allowing message exchange between certified third-party devices and Allen-Bradley products.
