The 1771-ACN15 is a ControlNet adapter module from Allen-Bradley. The 1771-ACN15 has an operating temperature rating between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature rating between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. The ControlNet adapter module has 1 BNC connector for active media operation and a single NAP which is an RJ-48pin with a shield. The 1771-ACN15 module consumes a current of 1A at 5V from the backplane. Additionally, the module should be mounted to the leftmost slot in the 1771 I/O chassis. The 1771-ACN15 uses keying bands to match the module with its correct slot. It accepts keying bands 54-56 for the upper connector and bands 16-18 for the lower connector.
The 1771-ACN15 uses the quad shield RG-6 coaxial cable. The module provides a high-speed data transfer rate of up to 5M bits per second. The 1771-ACN15 uses ½-slot, 1-slot and 2-slot addressing. It has I/O status and a node address display to help in the network diagnostics. For maintenance and troubleshooting, the 1771-ACN15 has a Network Access Port to access the network for local communication purposes. The 1771-ACN15 is used to interface the I/O modules in the 1771 I/O chassis to a ControlNet scanner port through a remote I/O link.
The 1771-ACN15 module is CE and offshore application certified. It has a reset pushbutton which is used to resume communication in the event of an error by resetting the module. The 1771-ACN15 works with a PLC-5 ControlNet controller and the module has a thermal dissipation rating of 17.06BTU/Hr.
