The Allen Bradley 2711P-T12W22D8S is an operator terminal from the PanelView Plus 7 Standard line-up. This operator terminal is used for real-time machine and process monitoring and control. It is tiny and reasonably priced for industrial-grade gear. Better known as an HMI device, it enables users and operators to monitor and control an application from one central location on the manufacturing floor. The 12.1-inch color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) widescreen display on this operator terminal can display 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution and 18-bit colors, allowing it to display process data and the condition of instruments and equipment. Thanks to the backlight put on it, which creates contrast and white light, users can see the screen. The expected half-life for this backlight is 50,000 hours of operation at 40 degrees Celsius. Touch-sensitive cells are also integrated onto the screen, enabling operators to enter commands. This analog resistive technology has a maximum actuation specification of one million with an actuation force rating of 100 grams. It's also recommended to operate this operator terminal using a gloved finger or a plastic pen. Protective overlays can also be utilized to prevent scratches and the direct contact of industrial contaminants with the screen. Additionally, this operator station has two (2) Ethernet I/P connections. Each of these ports has the ability to auto-negotiate and can support connections in Device Level Ring (DLR), Star, and Linear topologies. They can handle 10/100 Mbps. It uses commercial-quality LAN cable assembly, even though industrial-grade cables may be utilized for a more reliable operation.
