It serves as an industrial instrument that can present an exact process mimic while giving real-time monitoring and process control points. The most essential components of this 2711P-T12C4D2 are a display screen, a touch input interface, and communication connections. These components work together to carry out the device's intended functions. The display screen, in particular, is a 12.1-inch colored display screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and a display area of 246 × 184 millimeters (9.7 x 7.2 inches). The display panel has a backlight with a 300 cd/m2 Nits brightness. The backlight is of the CCFL variety and has a minimum operational lifespan of 50,00 hours. The operator interface is an analog resistive touchscreen with a 1 million press actuation rating and an operating force of 10-110 g. This operator terminal has one (1) Ethernet, one (1) RS-232, and two (2) USB connections for interfacing with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley's PLC5, SLC 500, and other controllers. The Ethernet connector is primarily utilized for multi-node communication, the RS232 port is used for point-to-point, short-distance communication that supports the DF1 and DH485 system protocols, and the USB interface is used for the insertion of external peripherals such as USB, keyboards, and portable drives. This operator terminal also supports non-Allen-Bradley third-party devices; sophisticated software by Allen-Bradley is used to program the 2711P-T12C4D2, permitting users to design their own screens and applications for monitoring and controlling industrial operations.
