Allen Bradley designed and produced the 2711-T6C8L1. This device is an operator terminal with embedded features and functionalities that enable it to function as a human-machine interface (HMI) to continuously monitor the linked machine or process via its integrated colored screen and touch operator interface and integrated data highway plus (DH+) communication port. The DH+ communication interface supports long-distance communication between multiple nodes. It is compatible with legacy PLC5 and SLC500 controllers and MicroLogix and CompactLogix controllers. The 2711-T6C8L1 terminal's monitor has a 5.7-inch display. The display is equipped with an illumination that has a half-life of 50,000 hours at 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The 2711-T6C8L1 features an analog resistive touchscreen interface with 128 contact cells measuring 20 by 30 pixels each. This operator terminal gets power externally by a range of 18-32 volts DC with a nominal value of 24 volts DC. It has a maximum power consumption of 24 W (1 ampere at 24 volts DC) and a maximum power dissipation of 17 watts (577 BTU/HR). The operator enters values using the keypad's F1 to F10 function keys. With an analog resistive touchscreen interface, a total of 128 touch cells with individual touch cell dimensions of 20 x 30 pixels, the operator is able to interact with the buttons/data displayed on the screen, which is more convenient compared to keypad-operated terminals. The battery contains an embedded clock that keeps track of time in real-time and records vital data. The battery can be changed on location. It employs a NEMA type 12/13, 4X (only for indoor use), IP54, and IP65-rated enclosure.
