The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 2711-K5A5 operator terminal was manufactured in the PanelView 550 terminals series. It features a 5.5-inch monochrome display with a resolution of 256 x 128 pixels that provides a clear and detailed visual interface. The display area measures 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.) and supports blue monochrome graphics. The 2711-K5A5 terminal’s display also has LED backlighting that guarantees visibility in a variety of lighting conditions. For user input and interaction, the 2711-K5A5 terminal is equipped with a keypad. This keypad includes 10 function keys labeled F1 through F10. These function keys facilitate user control and navigation with the 2711-K5A5 terminal. The 2711-K5A5 operator terminal comes with an RS-232 (DH-485) type of communication port for data exchange and communication. It does not include an RS-232 printer port. The non-volatile memory capacity of the 2711-K5A5 terminal is 240 KB, and this memory retains data even when power is disconnected. The RAM capacity of the 2711-K5A5 terminal is 170 KB, and the RAM is used for processing and temporary data storage. The 2711-K5A5 terminal is designed to be used safely in different types of industrial environments. This terminal is compatible with enclosures that have NEMA Type 12/13, and 4X ratings and are designed for indoor use only. It is also compatible with IEC IP54 and IP65-rated enclosures that can protect it from significant levels of dust and water in its environment. The status indicators on the 2711-K5A5 terminal include a green communication status indicator and a red fault indicator that provide real-time visual feedback to the users of the terminal.
