Allen-Bradley's 2711-B5A8 operator terminal is a PanelView 550 from the Bulletin 2711 PanelView standard operator terminal product line. This operator terminal has a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a 256 × 128 resolution and a display area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.). This operator terminal has two communication ports, one supporting data highway plus (DH+) and the other RS323 for printing alarms and system messages. A daisy chain of up to 32 devices can be connected at a single node using DH+, covering a distance of 4000 meters per segment. It is a Token-Passing protocol that allows network nodes to exchange data across the 1770-CD or Belden 9463 communication cable. The 2711-B5A8 has 170 KB of inbuilt application runtime memory. The 2711-B5A8 includes a keypad assembly with ten (10) function keys ranging from F1 to F10 that are fully customizable to meet the desired operator action. Aside from that, the keys can be assigned global or local functions, allowing them to have a changeable function per HMI window or a fixed assignment that is common regardless of the currently displayed window. This same terminal also incorporates a touch-sensitive interface, allowing the device to be operated by pushing directly on the screen. Both the keypad and the touchscreen can be used up to 1 million times. The 2711-B5A8 operator terminal has a monochrome LCD blue mode display with a 100,000-hour backlight life. It has an input voltage range of 85-264V AC and a frequency range of 47-63 hertz. It features alarm handling, screen security, analog gauges, and ATA memory cards for nonvolatile memory expansion.
