Allen-Bradley's 2080-LC30-24QWB is a flexible Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) from their Micro 800 series, developed for use in low-volume manufacturing environments. This little controller has features, including 14 discrete input channels that accept 24 VDC/VAC signals and 10 Normally Open (N.O.) relay outputs, making it ideal for various discrete control applications. In addition to its discrete I/O in its base configuration, up to three extra plug-in modules may offer analog I/O capability, making it suitable for a wide range of automation applications. This PLC is simple to program, and it supports various languages that engineers often use, such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text, so they may choose the one that works best for their project. With up to 4000 program steps and 8K bytes of data memory, the 2080-LC30-24QWB PLC can execute sophisticated control and logic schemes. In addition, it can optimize programs and provide sophisticated control features by using user-defined function blocks, PID algorithms, and Floating-Point mathematics. Common Industrial Protocol (CIP), ASCII, and Modbus RTU Master/Slave are only some industrial protocols supported by the controller's circular mini-din RS232 connection. In addition, its usefulness and accessibility are enhanced by including a USB 2.0 connector, which may be used for programming. Although an external 120 VAC / 240 VAC supply voltage is required for operation, this PLC has an internal 24 VDC power source. For uninterrupted operation, the 2080-PS120-240VAC is the recommended external power source.
